The Party Bus for Quinceaneras has become almost standard for Quinces in Los Angeles. But how do you choose the best one for you? Did you know not all are created equal?

Tiaras and Tacones Tips on How to book your next Party Limo Bus

Tip #1

Book early. At least 6 months in advance is what limousine Bus Owner from Exquisite Limousine Services advices. If your event is between April and September you are competing with Proms, Graduations and Weddings along with all the other Quinceaneras or Sweet 16 Events.

Tip #2

Ask for restrictions like a 4 or 6 hour minimums that are becoming standard for saturday events for most limo companies.

Tip #3

Ask if the price quoted includes tax & gratuity. Many times you will only receive the rental fee without these charges and have to pay these extra fees on the day of your Quinceanera.

Tip #4

Ask to see the vehicle you are renting at a show room or place of business. The condition of the vehicle may not be of the quality you expect so it is always best to inspect prior to booking. If you don’t mind an older model Limousine or Limousine Bus you can probably negotiate a better price. Ask if the vehicle is cleaned before your trip. These vehicle have multiple trips in one day.

Tip #5

Ask questions like, will refreshments be included? How will the driver be dressed? You don’t want a disheveled looking driver coming out in your photos as you exit the vehicle.

Tip #6

Having a good time is important but safety is also very important. So don’t forget to ask if Drivers have a clean driving and criminal record. Some companies are very lenient with who they hire as drivers. You don’t want just anyone driving your Quinceanera and her court around for several hours.

Tip #7

Ask the company you are hiring if all insurances are up to date? The last thing you need is for your Quinceanera party be delayed due to an issue with the limousine being towed due to a routine traffic stop by police and finding out the hard way.

How to implement this tradition into your Quinceanera.

What type of doll should you use?

For a Traditional Quinceanera

The doll will resemble the Quinceanera and have the same dress color and some shops even replicate a custom made dress to resemble the quinceanera to perfection. The price range can be as low as $35.00 to as high as $250.00

Contemporary Quinceanera 

Matel has a Quinceanera Barbie you can use as your last doll ceremony. This doll is great if you collect barbies already.

Pachuco or Vintage Quinceanera 

Precious moment figurines and dolls have been around for a while. So if you collect them or going for a vintage look to your event this precious moment doll is perfect and cute.

What if…

You don’t like dolls ? Do you skip on the tradition all together ? No not at all!!

Why not get a cool kitty or bear and build yourself a Quinceanera build-a-bear. This is a great alternative and unique way of expressing your style.

The tradition of a Quinceanera ‘s court has always been to have 14 young men and 14 young Ladies as your court of honor. Most recently that has been cut down to 7 and 7. I generally tell my Clients that there is no rule about the court size. A Quinceanera should ask themselves the following questions before choosing the number or the type of court they will have on that day.

Having a large court as your escort group may look like fun in pictures or sound like a party within your party but a large group is not for everyone.

1. Transportation: Will your event budget allow for a multiple passenger vehicle like a party bus or multiple limousine rentals to accommodate all your court members?

2. Space: Will your venue have the dance floor space to fit a large group for your valse and or surprise dances?

3. Time: Do you have the time and patience to coordinate everyone’s schedules to be able to get them all in one place once a week for a dance practice?

4. Guest Count: Are you considering each court members’ family in your guest count? Parents and or siblings of the court member will most likely expect to be invited.

Depending on the Quinceanera girl you are. These are the recommendations I have for you.

The Traditional Princess
You will want a traditional escort co-Ed group to stand in attention while you enter the room and while you Dance.

The Superstar Quinceanera
You want all eyes one you! So you might go at it solo or just have an all young men escort, after all you don’t want any one else taking the spotlight off of you.

The Social Butterfly Quinceanera
You want to share every minute of your day with your 28 or 14 closest bffs! Therefore for you a full escort is what you want.

The Un-traditional Quinceanera
Maybe you’re not into the whole couples thing or hey you have 2 or 4 best friends since pre-k and that’s who you hang with.

Great news! Today’s courts for your Quince are what you make of them.

The # of couples you have to choose from should not prevent you from having fun with your court selection or dances.

What if you want all boys to have all eyes on you but you will miss hanging with your girls?

Choose all boys for your formal official court. They will walk in to the ceremony and presentation with you. They will also perform the valse with you.

Quinceanera cakes can be fun and colorful. Depending on the number of guests will depend on the overall size of cake, so multiple tiers means multiple flavors!

Depending on where you are having your event you will either have the cake included in the package at your venue or bring it in yourself. The catch sometimes with having the cake included in your venue package is that you are forced to use only their chosen vendors and they have a set style or price you must stick to or else pay the extra money for personalizing it.

So should you hire a choreographer? Or go on YouTube and gather up some dance moves from the many videos of quinces. Well ask yourselves these questions…

1) Is it within your budget to do?
A professional choreographer will charge an average of 35 to 60$ an hour. An average full program choreography can run about 20 hours long to learn two 3 to 4 minute routines.

2) Do you have the space to practice?
An average court is 15 members and you will need a well lit and weather proof area that you can comfortably practice in. The ideal place is a space that mimics the dance floor at your event center. Many choreographers come to you but now more and more choreographers are booking dance studios to practice.

3) Are you as the host/parent willing and able to handle a group of 10 or more teenagers?
Pick up and drop them off as needed, Hand out refreshments and show them a routine or are they disciplined to handle on their own? If the answer is no. Then a choreographer would be an essential part of your vendor team.

4) If a ‘Dancing  with the Stars’ show stoping performance is your dream then a choreographer is an ideal solution.
Especially if you have a group of non dancers in your hands. You should however have realistic expectations of what a group of non dancers will be able to accomplish and in the number of sessions your budget allows.

Most of all you should remember to have fun with it !
